Each Milestone Serves A Purpose - Milestone 2

In 2008, I took part in the inaugural Texas Independence Relay, a 24-hours non-stop team relay covering 207 miles from Gonzales, TX to the San Jacinto Monument. As part of a corporate team of 12 members, each of us took turns running designated segments.

Personally responsible for 20 miles, I tackled 6 miles, 7 miles, and another 7 miles in separate legs. For one of my legs, it was daunting and scary running in the pitch-black Texas night on the country road while holding a baton with only my team van guiding me with its light beams. But, in the end through our shared efforts and exhaustion, we were victorious!

Winning the corporate division highlighted the importance of teamwork and trust in achieving a shared outcome.

Check back next Sunday to find out about Milestone 3 in this three-part series!
