Each Milestone Serves A Purpose - Milestone 1
Following in my mother's footsteps, I have embraced long-distance running since my childhood, and my passion for it has only grown over the years.
One significant accomplishment was checking off my first bucket list item by running the Houston Marathon in 2008. I vividly remember running the entire 26.2 miles with a final sprint for the last 0.2 miles. It's interesting how that last 0.2 seemed much farther when my mind kept reminding me that ending with a whole number is more logical.
As a part of the training process, I developed a training plan based on research and applying what worked for me. My mornings, nights, and weekends for months were dedicated to running.
Completing the marathon taught me that, with proper preparation and consistency, any challenge is conquerable.
Check back next Sunday to find out about Milestone 2 in this three-part series!
